Case Study: Divan Production Line
The original transportation method to move the mattresses around the facility and production line and down to the lower floor, for loading into logistics, was the use of wooden planks to slide them over a downward staircase with no guided directional guards to reduce injury to operations and damage to the site. This also risked damage to the products themselves too.
There was a requirement to ensuring minimal health and safety risks, reduction of labour of, and by, operators, as well as increasing capacity and speeding up transportation, along with best use of space and ease of automatically guiding the mattresses to where they needed to be.
We presented our range of machines that meet those needs and found that they could also benefit from automatic in-feed and we were able to adapt our CTek for Heavy Duty use and CTek-Divan Belt-driven Straight Line conveyors to deal cater to the steep downwards incline of the staircase, as well as the addition of alignment guiding guards to accurately position the divan bases onto the downward conveyor.
